Attachment and Loneliness in Mental Health Outcomes
Loneliness is on the rise in the U.S., and that’s a problem for mental (and physical) health. Loneliness increases a person’s risk of depression, addiction, and even heart disease. Research finds that loneliness isn’t strongly related with the amount of time people spend alone, but seems to be more closely related to forming deep, meaningful connections.
